AIAC and AVARA Pharmaceuticals co-sponsor luncheon honoring the Prime Minister of Japan

New York City, NY — September 21, 2023— American Industrial Acquisition Corporation (AIAC) and its pharmaceutical manufacturing affiliate, Avara Pharmaceutical Services Limited (Avara), co-sponsored a private luncheon event in honor of His Excellency Fumio Kishida, the Prime Minister of Japan.  Hosted by the Economic Club of New York, the event took place on Thursday, September 21, 2023, in the grand ballroom of the iconic Pierre Hotel in New York City.

The event, commenced with a luncheon at 12:15 p.m. and provided attendees with a unique opportunity to engage in discussions, network, and celebrate the successful US-Japan economic partnership.  At 1:15 p.m., His Excellency Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister of Japan, delivered an address, sharing his valuable insights into the current political and economic landscape for Japan and the world.

Prime Minister Kishida began with praise for the US-EU-Japan alliance for strengthening the international order and the rule of law and with an appeal to promote nuclear disarmament.  He stated that despite Japan’s challenges, which included birthrate declines, inflation, energy insecurity, and climate change, Japan recently achieved an 11.4% growth rate, reflecting the highest growth rate in the G7, and producing the highest stock prices in 33 years.

The Prime Minister then announced bold, new policy initiatives to reform and stimulate the Japanese economy.  These initiatives addressed wage structures, women in the workforce, childcare, the environment, asset management, tax incentives, small business support, corporate governance reform, trade zones, R&D incentives, and deregulation.  He described the technologies for which Japan can play a leading role, including artificial intelligence, fusion energy, and biotech.

The Prime Minister was then interviewed by Becky Quick, Anchorwoman of CNBC’s financial news shows, On the Money and Squawk Box.

Immediately following the luncheon event, AIAC and Avara Pharmaceutical Services hosted two hours of coffee and cocktails for their clients and friends on the top floor of the Metropolitan Club of New York, located adjacent to the Pierre Hotel.

L. M. Levie, Chairman of AIAC and of Avara, remarked “AIAC has proudly served as a reliable and critical supplier to the most prominent multinational corporations in Japan, including Astellas, Honda, Komatsu, Mitsubishi, Nissan, and Toyota.   We are privileged to join the Economic Club of New York in warmly welcoming and honoring His Excellency Fumio Kishida in his visit to the United States.”  Mr. Levie, a Member of the Trilateral Commission, the Patron’s Circle of the Japan Society and a Fellow of the Asia Society added, “As the third largest economy in the world, and a steadfast friend and trading partner of the United States, Japan plays a key role in the strength and stability of the global economic system.   The Prime Minister’s clear focus on the rule of law and the market economy are directly aligned with vital US and EU interests.  Moreover, the Prime Minister’s carefully constructed, comprehensive policy initiatives for Japan will materially stimulate growth, reduce inflation, and attract direct foreign investment.  Japan is open for business.”
